DNC chair asks for staff resignations as overhaul beginshttp://www.cnn.com/2017/03/28/politics/dnc-tom-perez-staff-resignation-letters/index.html
"Newly installed Democratic National Committee chairman Tom Perez has asked all the committee's staffers to submit their resignations by April 15 as he begins an overhaul of the party's organization.
The house-cleaning move means Perez can start from scratch as he remakes a DNC that was rocked by hacks, accusations of favoritism and leadership shakeups during the 2016 campaign."
"The overhaul will be particularly welcome to progressives, who viewed the DNC under former chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz as biased in favor of Clinton and against Sanders. Progressive activists, angered by Wasserman Schultz, called for wholesale changes at the DNC during the 2016 election."
I'm glad to see Tom Perez clean house and start from scratch. It's desperately needed. I hope he works very closely with Keith Ellison to build a new DNC that will support massive grassroots organization and take the best parts of the 50 state strategy and attack not just House and Senate seats, but Governorships and state house seats as well.

(26,613 posts)refuse to identify with a party, but they share my liberal ideas and values and all campaigned and voted for Hillary..
Please, let's stop this. We need liberals, and there 's a reason many liberals don't join the party, but I damn sure want their input. They're engaged and vote and will remain active, and while they may not be members of the party, they're on our side.
If Democrats don't filibuster the nomination of Neil Gorsuch, I will also change my registration to Independent, something I swore I'd never do. But the party must stand tall against turning our Supreme Court into who know what. I'm quite sure the two Independent Senators will not vote for cloture. Will Democrats?

(42,862 posts)It's my believe that people should not post disrespectful nicknames, insults, or inflammatory attacks against any Democratic public figure or against the Democratic Party itself.
I think it's pretty obvious that people who post here support and admire a wide variety of Democratic politicians and public figures, and that's why I believe that constructive criticism should always be welcome.
Even so, it's really not to much to expect that Democrats will not be denigrated on this website, is it?

(26,613 posts)I really do have a lot of confidence in him.. I honestly think he understands working people and the issues, and he'll advocate for unions. I miss the fire of Howard Dean, but don't think it's necessary.

(42,862 posts)It's an administrative and wonky role. A calm, serious and focused demeanor are needed.
The word "boring", when used to describe someone, has distinctly negative connotations. (Yawn. Ho-hum.) it suggests that they're just gonna sit there like a bump-on-a-log and do nothing. Or that they are are somehow lacking in personal qualities or other abilities that are required or desirable in order to be successful.
Things like that (calling him "boring" only serve to reinforce and contribute to the divisions that weaken our party, or to sabotage and influence how people view Perez before he gets a chance to make his mark. Not that you'd intentionally be doing that... I'm just letting you know how it appears.
