Unfortunately it does not matter how bad the GOP gets or how low Trump goes on approval, they have the ability to permanently damage the country for years to come. The GOP will support him no matter what. Voters gave the barbarians the power. So we have to continue to resist to try to limit the damage they will most likely do.

Look at all the terrible laws they are passing almost daily. Sure the protests supposedly stopped the ACA repeal but the truth is that ALL of the GOP who faced the town hall kick back would have voted for the ACA repeal. The ONLY thing that stopped it was a ground of radical extremist Republicans that wanted to just take away health care altogether. They did not get full repeal and no replacement and that is what caused them appose the bad bill that was enhance FOR THEM.

The rank and file GOP still support radical destructive and deadly ideas. There is hope that voters will come to their senses in 2018. Never the less we are stuck with Trump unless something happens he gets ill, dies from natural causes or resigns for some reason. He will be in his late 70's by the end of a second term if he gets one.

if he is below 25% for a few months, we'll either get a Reichstag Fire type event or the trickle of GOPers calling for investigation & special prosecutor will become a flood.
