How long before Burr becomes Nunes?

Haven't seen any mention of this little Burr contretemps today. Apologies if I missed it. I'm sure everybody here remembers it:

http://www.salon.com/2017/02/28/senate-intelligence-chairman-richard-burr-reeling-from-compromising-phone-call-on-behalf-of-trump/

the above contained in Don Viejo's link:

http://www.democraticunderground.com/10028721869

Senate Intelligence Committee Chairman Richard Burr, R-N.C., is shying away from publicity after admitting that he talked with the White House about reports that President Donald Trump’s campaign had contacts with Russian officials — and that he worked to discredit unfavorable coverage from CNN and The New York Times.

“I didn’t do anything that jeopardized or compromised in any way the integrity of the investigation,” Burr said during an interview with Time Warner Channel 14, a cable station in his home state of North Carolina. He added that he had “simply had two conversations with two different media outlets on one specific thing” before repeating that “I didn’t do anything inappropriate or in any way compromise the integrity of the investigation.”

nothing ''inappropriate,'' but he clammed up completely after this little gem:

......Burr told The Washington Post that he had “had conversations about” how the media was covering Russia with members of the Trump White House and that he had contacted members of the press to discredit stories covering Trump’s alleged contacts when “I felt I had something to share that didn’t breach my responsibilities to the committee in an ongoing investigation.”

are they just going to let him get away with dealing with his obvious conflict of interest? What was the name of that attorney general that was recently castigated/excoriated for simply meeting with the husband of a presidential candidate? Here Burr adMITS he acted on behalf of the WH to disCREDIT stories regarding possible collusion on the part of the Trump campaign.

When he starts pissing into the Senate IC punch, perhaps this story will come back into play, but I'm waiting to hear about this during the brief honeymoon this committee is going to have among its members.

I could be wrong, but why should anything be any different than it has been WRT the continual obstruction by the PIP?

positive, compared to what Nunes has done

I am pretty skeptical though unless an independent investigator is appointed

they've already said (Burr? I missed it) that NO trump tax returns at this point.

WHY??????

any idiot knows that the tax returns are the holy grail of the entire investigation.

or am I missing something more important?

it goes on to mention that Susan Collins would be willing to do so. What's her stance on this today? and.....does she have the power to issue one on her own, or does it have to go through the chairman?

But he is very conservative and was a big Trump supporter during the campaign. There is some political game afoot if he appears to be sticking his neck out on Trump Russia investigation.

what do people think about him monkeywrenching this committee's mission?

does anyone believe anything is going to come of this?

and if a socalled independent commission/special prosecutor does eventually happen, my guess it goes the way of its predecessors, like the Warren or 911 examples

all goes down to who appoints it.....when it's the party in power investigating itself, not too much faith here in the outcome

but I'm an optimist.........

does anybody seriously think this back bencher is going to go against the McConnell/Bannon agenda?

if so, perhaps some therapy is in order:

But he is my rep, and no, I do not believe, based on past performance, that the man gives a single shit for anyone other than his corporate contributors. He is another GOP good ole boy white supremacist in a nice suit. Sessions, Tillis, Burr.... Birds of a feather.

before that she alluded to the fact that Warner wants the tax returns, while the shill does not

when is that going to become an issue, and, again, does only Burr have the power to issue subs?

I was going to post something similar.

Will the White House break Burr the way they broke Nunes?

If they can destroy the Senate investigation, they could probably end the investigation. Fire Comey and appoint another Trumpian for the FBI and stop all investigations.

We should understand that the Trump White House will go to no end to protect the Donald.

After first being reluctant to include possible Trump-Russia ties in the investigation, Sen. Richard Burr (R-N.C.), the Senate intelligence committee chair, relented. (Burr, no coincidence, was a member of the Trump campaign's national security advisory council.)

http://www.motherjones.com/politics/2017/02/ron-wyden-intelligence-committee-russia-trump-investigation

ALL the usual feebs in the cnn/msnbc swooncircle are salivating over big bad Burr, and how he's gonna be the new sheriff in town

sure

he's PART of the coverup, just wait and see. it's all going to go the way of the house. just a big charade

you don't think he knows very well what these traitors were up to?
