I'm getting that icky 2003 vibe again from the cable nets

Lots of war porn, snazzy graphics, cruise missile experts and MMQ'ng on Obama's policies.

A special GFY to Brian Williams and Andrea Greenspan.

"Navy SEALS rock!"

Update: Williams is now quoting Leonard Cohen.

Putin wouldn't stand for that.

I agree, and it will deflate the sails of his move tonight overtime with cable news, and in the polls.

ABC.AU still gets it at least.

The sidebar to this article: http://www.abc.net.au/news/2017-04-07/us-launches-cruise-missile-strike-on-syria/8425132

Key points:

About 60 US Tomahawk missiles targeted Syrian airbase near Homs
Donald Trump said missile attack in the nation's "vital national security interest"
Syria's ally Russia was given advance warning

I don't think the world is climbing onboard with US cable news this time at least. Trump will no doubt get a surge in the US, we're stupid and easily distracted, but it remains to be seen if it resonates globally.

Imagine all those eyeballs glued to the 24/7 generic missile launch at night video. Not to mention most of the media is owned by companies that also produce material for the war machine. Gotta buy some more missiles!

Not to trust the media ever. Saw a lot of panty dropping and gushing over how the media was "taking it to trump"

Just because Trump hates the media does not mean the media is an ally of the democrats. They just want drama and money from ad revenue. Trump gives them ratings and money so it's a symbiotic relationship. Corporate media is complicit in the election of Trump and real democrats don't watch them and give them ratings.

Always has been. They've been the first to send special forces, first to recognize "rebel" governments which have subsequently vanished, and generally kept the thing going for reasons I don't fully understand.

..triggering my Iraq Vet's mama issues.
Not surprised, I felt it was coming..
just can't believe this horrible reality, & that so many support trump..I deal with them daily.
& I do believe this is a distraction from all kinds of evil trump is involved in.
