Guns and religion: How American conservatives grew closer to Putins Russia

Explains why the Christian Right is in bed with Trump

WP

Putin offered to help Graham organize an international conference on Christian persecution in Moscow, Graham said. Instead, a Russian delegation is expected when the conference takes place in May in Washington, Graham said.

At the end of 2015, Butina welcomed a delegation to Moscow that included Keene, by then a member of the NRA board, as well as top NRA donors. The group also included a rising star in GOP politics, Milwaukee County Sheriff David Clarke, who went on to be a campaign surrogate for Trump and has been mentioned as a contender for a high-level job at the Department of Homeland Security. Clarke did not respond to requests for comment.

This explains allot. Christian leaders and the NRA are in bed with the Kremlin.

It's the only way that the Christofacists can force the rest of America to believe in their delusional version of Christianity! And Clarke , he's slated to become the American version of Reinhard Heydrich!

We can only hope that if Clarke does become another Heydrich, he meets the same fate, long before he can do any real damage!!!

Here's the link to the article in today's Washington Post.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/how-the-republican-right-found-allies-in-russia/2017/04/30/e2d83ff6-29d3-11e7-a616-d7c8a68c1a66_story.html?tid=ss_tw&utm_term=.68a448bc5704

Christian fundamentalists are being played by Putin, but are too stupid to know it.

The NRA isn't that dumb. They're just looking for more ways to sell guns.

According to the article, right-wing "love" of Russia came about because of their hatred of Obama. Putin is laughing his ass off. And it's impossible to pity the morons who are falling for this bullshit.

It's a good article and worth reading.

Even me, the cynic who thinks religion is basically hateful, never imagined this.

I've even given money to Franklin's foundation.

But when he decided to back the "pussy grabber" my southern Baptist husband was scratching his head in confusion. Now we know why.

My Dad was very religious, though no fan of the Grahams, but he would see this as traitorous. Putin is a despot, but I guess a good portion of the religious right would be if they could. I think the RW alliance with Russia goes deeper than interference in elections and even Trump's money laundering.

Religious people just weren't out praising dictators when I was a kid, or I don't recall it. That was back in the 70s in Kentucky, so maybe I missed that.
