I have a relative who has dementia...

It's something I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy.

My relative spouts off at the most inappropriate times, saying things that only exist in her own fantasyland.

Sound familiar?

but most families would act responsibly to protect the patient and those who could be at risk from the patient. That this has not happened with DT--either from family or those in a position to know exactly what is going on is beyond reprehensible. It is traitorous, IMHO.

Mother in Law,had a form of Dementia which was slow onset. But,in her last two years of her life,it accelerated,we had to bring in Professional Helper to help us with day to day care. We finally had to do a Locked Facility with mega Med's.

The Human Mental Condition can be and is very interesting.
