Mostly, the cable newscasters are talkers, not thinkers. Especially the headliners like Wolf Blitzer and Andrea Mitchell.

They normalize the Trump idiocy by assuming there are strategies and logic in Trump's "policies." The president is devoid of thoughts other than those about himself.

The newscasters are as idiotic as Trump.

I was watching and just felt disgusted...nobody should be giving ANYTHING he says any credence. The fact that they are normalizing his ideas or agenda is beyond nauseating. He doesn't deserve to be president and certainly doesn't deserve ANY respect. What a fucking joke and our country is doomed until he can be removed for the criminal he, his administration and his stupid family are...

now it's gone full circle and they're stuck rationalizing the irrational, like trying to translate baby-speak into Latin. at best they can make conjectures about what would drive a nominally rational person to conduct "diplomacy" in this manner. it's prohibitively difficult and/or dangerous to point out what's glaringly obvious: Trump is suffering from narcissism and dementia, and his "cabinet" is stocked with nepotism and nincompoops. what seems like an obscure "strategy" is simply chaos rooted in uncaring incompetence.
