Cnn calls it wacky, i call it sad, embarrassing and deplorable.
Trump's wacky history lessons continue
In the latest strange aside, Trump said that Andrew Jackson, the populist rabble-rousing President with whom he has begun to claim political kinship, had strong thoughts about the Civil War -- even though he died 16 years before the conflict broke out.
"He was really angry that -- he saw what was happening with regard to the Civil War," Trump said in an interview with Salena Zito, a Washington Examiner reporter and CNN contributor, on Sirius XM radio. "He said, 'There's no reason for this.' "
Trump's comment makes little sense because Jackson died in 1845 and therefore could have had limited knowledge about events leading up to the conflagration pitting his native South against Northern states.

The disgrace isnt this child in the WH, the disgrace are the sixty million Americans who love that he is there.

The man is borderline dementia, it seems so obvious, why try to cover it up? The gop got away with covering for Saint Ronnie, we can not let them do it again. He should resign, go to Mar-A-Lago golf and enjoy what lucid time he has left. I do not think there will be a whole lot of THAT.

(10,266 posts)I still hate that little fucker. If he had been impeached, Trump would have NEVER had the base of support that he did. I understand why 'looking forward' was done, but that doesnt mean I agree with it. At some point, we're going to have to have the personal and political stones to start calling a spade a spade, and a treasonous criminal asshole a treasonous criminal asshole, and start putting people in prison.
Or the Republican bullies who think running this nation is their Divine Right are just going to keep on believin their own bullshit.

Told me he was quitting shortly after a new superintendent was hired. He was a great Principal and I was trying to convince him to stay. He told me he just couldn't work for stupid. The Superintendent, who was eventually let go, was the singular dumbest person in that position I ever experienced.

(2,559 posts)Trump's appearance on Face the Nation, where he smirked, "I call it "Deface the Nation", with an attitude that expected peals of laughter from his host. He didn't get it. He never gets it. And now he's channeling some pimply seventh grader's pathetic attempt at humor, with the lowest form: puns. Well I guess if the shoe fits. We have a seventh grade president.
Enjoy.

(12,051 posts)dumb rich kids got accepted to the U, daddy gave plenty of $$$ (usually for sports bullshit), and Dipshit Junior 'earned' "gentleman's Cs" for the whole time he was enrolled. Note I didn't say "attended." They often did not make it to class -- they'd come in once in a while and tried to buy class notes from some of us poor kids who got into U with actual good grades. Some even bought tests. It was an eye-opener.
I still have conservative acquaintances who truly believe that every rich kid got his degree by working HARD. That's why he has money, he works HARD. Right.

(1,214 posts)His vocabulary is really, really, bad. I would expect someone who attended Fordham University and the Wharton School to have a bigly vocabulary, and really, really know things that your average American would know - being President is a difficult job - much more difficult than running a business. Passing any sort of national health care plan isn't something you can whip up over drinks at Mar-a-lago, even if they have really, really good chocolate cake.
It's also fascinating to watch him try to go through the motions of being President, and give us clear vision of the manipulations that are commonly done for the President. Why all the talk about Andrew Jackson? We are supposed to see him as a modern Jackson, and he knows nothing about him, or anyone else. He talked about Frederick Douglass to punch his "I'm not a racist" card, and fucked that up too by not knowing that the man was dead. Trump's a rich kid who never had to do anything, because his father and his inheritance shielded him from reality. So sad... except for the bigly fun my family has talking like him.

(21,596 posts)All the odds are on the man who is, intrinsically, the most devious and mediocre the man who can most adeptly disperse the notion that his mind is a virtual vacuum.
The Presidency tends, year by year, to go to such men. As democracy is perfected, the office represents, more and more closely, the inner soul of the people. We move toward a lofty ideal. On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart's desire at last, and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron.

(837 posts)... I've forgotten about history. Same w most people. No biggie. But I sure as hell am going to RESEARCH THE DETAILS before I start using history as an analogy or explanation for anything.
Reason why?
Because a failure to do so means you are a complete f*^king moron who should not be allowed out in public.
This isn't even a Presidential thing.
This is a "should you be allowed to speak in public" thing.
