Once again, Trumps' band of idiots shows their ignorance
Reince Preibus went on television to inform the nation that this administration has been looking at changing the "libel laws." He clearly doesn't even know what he's talking about!
Freedom of the Press, as we all know from our lessons in civics, is in the First Amendment to the Constitution as part of the Bill of Rights. Aren't these Republicans supposed to support "originalism?" Naw, only when it's convenient for them as they want to allow Trump to sue news outlets for their "fake news."
So, two points immediately come to mind. First, do these clowns understand how difficult it is to amend the Constitution? The super-majorities required in both Houses of the Federal Government are only the first step. Then you need a super-majority of all of the States' legislatures to approve the Amendment. Good luck with that, Trump.
The second point is even better. Let's say that Trump's team can accomplish the massive task of passing a Constitutional Amendment. (Remember, he hasn't been able to even articulate an important bill during his tenure, let alone pass one. But he thinks he'll be able to do this?!) Then Trump doesn't like something the NY Times writes about him so he sues them. This means that Trump would have to subject himself to discovery and depositions, opening himself to questioning. Good luck with that, too, Trump. By the way, there's no guarantee that he would win his suit.
Our Government is in danger with these BS artists at the helm.
