"Most Divisive Speech Every Given by a President of the United States"
A speech in Harrisburg PA last Saturday is being described as a very divisive hateful speech, especially against immigrants.. There is an op ed in today's New York Times about this speech... by Jason Stanley
from .."THE STONE"...
https://www.nytimes.com/2017/05/01/opinion/who-is-a-criminal.html?
...and here is a paragraph from that column.............
"In the United States, Donald Trump rode to victory with a call to expel criminal aliens. In his announcement of his run for office, he spoke of Mexican immigrants as rapists. Since he has taken office, he has harshly targeted immigrants in the United States at his rally on Saturday in Harrisburg, Pa., he compared immigrants as he did last year to poisonous snakes, to great applause. It is worth noting that this tactic of dehumanization referring to humans as animals has historically been used to foment hatred and violence against chosen groups]... In the lead up to the Rwandan genocide, for instance, Tutsis were regularly described as snakes.' "

David Gergen...a speech writer for Regan called this speech the most divisive ever given by a President of the United States....to read more of his comments....here is a link

I want to add this: if Trump is using the language of hate and more hate..and if people truly believe this hate, then he is far more dangerous than many of us think, and as truly divisive as Gergen states. That divisive tact is exactly what Hitler used to gain, keep and increase power.... Also, we must never underestimate the power of our opponents, and what they can do with that power.
