Some pictures tell a story better than a thousand words.

This photograph of a girl scout named Lucie face-to-face with a neo-Nazi member in Brno, Czech Republic, is so iconic that it already got 61,000 points on Reddit.

The girl, from the Czech Junák - český skaut (Scouts and Guides of the Czech Republic) is holding a sign which reportedly says "We will raise your children"— a Scout motto — and is protesting against an extreme right rally held in the Czech city on 1 May.

The World Organization of the Scout Movement (WOSM), which re-shared on Facebook the picture originally taken by Vladimír Čičmanec, said in a post:

"People from all walks of life, and #Scouts among them, came to the streets during an extreme right march yesterday, to express their support for values of diversity, peace and understanding. Creating a better world!"

There's always only been one problem and that's selfishness. Seeing the world as ONE or seeing the world as my little teeny self. One leads to happiness and success for individuals and nations and any group imaginable. The other leads eventually to hell for any person or group.

To find a place in society that you feel fitted to requires a great deal of focus on and energy coming from your tiny self, but if it's directed by the Higher Self, the ONE, then you'll succeed. You'll also be happy and others will be happy for you.

This is a law that will never change as long as humans inhabit the earth. To believe that it's only the little self that's important is the reason that everybody is crazy to one degree or another. When as a group we are cured entirely of the little self, we probably won't be in this dimension anymore, one based on duality but in another dimension of some kind that's a little closer to the ultimate good, the ONE.

I didn't know her name, but have you ever seen grace and poise like that? Incredible.

It's hard to overlook the stark purity of the image, a slightly built woman in a soft, breezy dress being manhandled by large stormtroopers in helmets and full body armor.

The stark difference between the two sides of the photograph, culminating in the conflict at the center, is really something.

So many different themes could describe what is happening (not only as it relates to what is going on in the forefront, but as it relates to the the background, as well). Her feet are as firmly planted on the ground as the roots of the tree behind her are planted into the soil. I also think of the pic as the calm before the storm.

I've done my share of protests and dealt with people vocally opposed.

Some people are beyond hope.

But I've engaged with people.

Actually completely changed one fellow's mind about a (very specific) issue one time within the course of a couple of hours

Started when I walked up to him, he got a pretty nasty scowl on his face and said a few unpleasant things.

I said, "It's hot out and you don't look to have anything but that sign. I was wondering if you would like a bottle of water."

The look on his face was priceless. Last thing in the world he probably expected.

He muttered "thank you" and took it.

46. To be fair

This looks like two young people having a lively disagreement. I see no physical threat taking place here. for sure, the skinhead kid is a little scary with his wraparounds and shaved head but the body language of both kids suggests this is not necessarily a hostile confrontation but the kind of animated exchange you would see between any two young people with differing political ideas.

I resist demonizing individuals of the far right (or any stripe) because I've seen how easy it is for young people to be led into a belief system that makes no sense.
