It sounds like the Prince Philip maybe stepping down from public life

This as of now is just conjecture. Not confirmed.

The Duke of Edinburgh, who is 95, will no longer carry out public engagements from the autumn of this year, Buckingham Palace has announced.

The Palace said in a statement it was the Duke's decision taken with the support of the Queen.

It said: "His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh has decided that he will no longer carry out public engagements from the autumn of this year. In taking this decision, The Duke has the full support of The Queen.

She said he has been having a hard time remembering names, etc. So he is probably stepping down for that.

push notices on my phone about this.

As an American..... who cares?

He's old. He probably wants to hang out and watch Frankie and Grace on Netflix in the privacy of his own room.

But the Queen and Prince Philip have actually been pretty hard-working over the years. It is no joke for such elderly people to constantly have to be doing public events. They may live lives of luxury (although the Queen is said to be very frugal), but they are not slackers, and most people their age would have been retired for years by now.

He is from Scotland. He's not completely sold on the Royals, but will defend them when I say there shouldn't even be a royal family in this age. I like poking sticks.
