Congressman Mike Turner (OH-10) released the following statement regarding his vote against the American Health Care Act:
I ultimately could not support the American Health Care Act. This bill will leave our most vulnerable citizens with inadequate health coverage. I cannot support a health plan to replace Obamacare that puts my constituents health benefits at risk.
I have repeatedly voiced my concerns to the White House and House leadership. I will continue to work with them and my colleagues in a bipartisan effort to enact health care reforms that ensure patients have affordable access to the insurance coverage they need.

While I disagree with how he wants to change the ACA, at least he didn't vote for the piece of shit legislation.

(64,931 posts)Many of his constituents are teabaggers who "have theirs, so fuck everyone else". The rest think Democrats are coming for their guns, even though they still may lose their Obamacare.

(82,849 posts)Glad you're not voting for him. Remind your friends and neighbors that Rep. Turner is part and parcel of that Republican House majority that voted to end health care for millions so that their wealthy bankrollers could have yet another tax cut. If there's going to be a change, it will come when Republicans no longer control the House.

(544 posts)Ohio junior senator Rob Portman (R) has already come out vocally against the bill in the senate as well. And I don't think we have to worry about senator Sherrod Brown (D) stance on it as well.
Looks like those swing state politicians up for rebid in 2018 are a wee bit nervous.

(64,931 posts)That will make it more difficult for the Senate to pass anything resembling tRumpCare.
