Until eight years ago, no one in Washington was even talking about affordable, or American, or whatever health care. Hillary disastrous attempt killed any future ones.
Even during the 2008 campaign, John Edwards was the only one openly talking about health care for all. (Did not help him, though..)
OK, I will keep looking.

(47,264 posts)about how employees would lose their jobs because all of a sudden they were a "drain" on the employer health insurance costs.
I met for "informational interview" with several executives of a major insurance company.
They were nice, accommodating. The HR was proud that they did not insure "risky" individuals - AIDS was in the news - and the VP of actuary claimed that "after all, not everyone drives a Cadillac."
I was recently laid off, but remember talking to my spouse hoping that I would not be offered a job there... I was not.
