(24,402 posts)This needs to be tattooed on their heads so that it will never be forgotten. Paul Ryan's "legacy" should be that he is mass murderer with no conscience, no soul.
Cha
(295,926 posts)Precisely, brer! Thank you for supporting what Nancy has to say about these purveyors of Death.

Blue Meany
(1,947 posts)no one in political power is even advocating for it. There are people advocating for single payer and Pelosi opposes it.
Now that I think about it, though, if Bernie Sanders were to start advocating for socialized medicine, maybe single payer would become the compromise position instead of a "radical" one.

Great post, Cha.

(19,549 posts)Always has, and always will. Even more so now that my peers and myself are feeling the sting of this horrific piece of legislation.
We're battered, but not beaten. The Republicans own this atrocity and if the Senate decides to pass an incarceration of this they too will be tainted by its stench. We must organize and hold them accountable for their actions.
It's early in the game and we must remain laser focused on what really matters here. Our very Democracy is at stake. It's imperative that we don't lose focus!
This isn't even the worst of what we expected after the election, it's not even close, and that it's taken them this long to get this far is a good thing for us. People are resisting them. We can't become discouraged and stop, or become distracted now. They're playing for keeps, and 2018 is now the most important election of our lives.

(24,402 posts)are going after voter purges and the rigging. We can't win if republicans control the voting, and Sessions will be giving them protection. We need big guns, and PBO can produce them.

(19,549 posts)I also believe he cares about our nation, and all the people who live here.
I've read post election his people are supposed to be involved in the gerrymandering rig going on, if he's on that I'm sure he's working for the good of democracy still.

(295,926 posts)torturous bill has passed the House doesn't mean we stop calling.. the Senate gops will be noting the FALLOUT..

(19,549 posts)We also must vote them out in 2018!
We are our own miracle if we want it. If we can change the balance in the House and/or Senate on them, the way they did to us in 2010 and 2012, we can have real power to resist them!
We need to beat them at their own game this time around. We need to take every seat from dogcather on up we can get from now forward, we need to remain active and woke.
Cha
(295,926 posts)those who haven't voted in Mid-terms because of some self-centered slight or to teach someone a lesson.. will finally see the difference between these evil fascists and Democrats.

(4,317 posts)let them off the hook for this one. They even included this....
"One little-noticed provision would reduce funds that allow schools to cover health services for children who qualify for special education because of physical or mental impairments".
"Yes, the AHCA would very literally take money away from disabled kids".
The above quote per this article: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/health-care-bill-republican-party_us_590b8052e4b0d5d9049a7ab5?ncid=inblnkushpmg00000009
This is one of the most callous and violently greedy pieces of legislation I can remember.

(295,926 posts)face that they celebrated with beer, blue-wave. They were so damn happy with it that excluded themselves.. Throw their voters to the wolves but keep the Obamacare for them.

(63,658 posts)approval of dismantling healthcare for Americans is showing the repigs true colours, then they are showing us how they really feel about Americans they have no respect for us whatsoever. This cannot stand.
Cha

(37,428 posts)Trump may have done nothing but fuck up his entire life, but he has so far only been rewarded. If all his promises come to nothing more than "well, we sure pissed off the libruls," that could conceivably be enough to let him survive a term, or even to win reelection.
But WE would sure have to screw the pooch to make that happen.
WePurrsevere
(24,259 posts)But, if you think about the historical monsters on a timeline, in the long term (sometimes even years, sometimes centuries) they always lose, so IMO Dan is correct in that way.

(37,428 posts)Progressive leadership improves lives, but it also begets complacency and therefore tyrants.
WePurrsevere
(24,259 posts)I strongly suspect that in the long run Trump's current 'rewards' will be seen in a rather different and more negative context.
Besides historically there's a part of me hopes that there's some sort of karmic/biblical justice after this life. If so it's gonna suck septic tank waste for Trump and the GOP.
Orsino
(37,428 posts)There is no karma that can be counted upon...but that does tend to make it all the sweeter in the few cases when it appears to manifest.
WePurrsevere
(24,259 posts)and hope to get a nice 'YUGE' dose of it soon.

(685 posts)we lost the house because of her we have to pass the bill so that you can find out what is in it, away from the fog of the controversy.
Now because of Ryan we will get it back
Cha
(295,926 posts)her.. quit spreading propaganda.
burnbaby
(685 posts)it's not propaganda. For 2 years we spent working on the ACA while we had majority in both houses. You tell me why or how did we lose? Let me take it another step, why are we going to win in 2018 because the repubs repealed ACA.
Cha
(295,926 posts)get them straight.
we lost control because a large chunk of people who voted for D's in 2008 apparently forgot that there are midterms and couldn't be bothered to show up in 2010, knowing full well what was at stake with allowing the GOP to gain power.
Cha
(295,926 posts)thanks for getting the facts out there.
They can just stop dissing Nancy Pelosi
burnbaby
(685 posts)in 2012, 2014 and 2016?
When ACA first came out there were lot's of issues. It was not embraced with open arms at first by a large amount of people
Cha
(295,926 posts)and the 3rd party types whined their heads off that it wasn't single payer.. not being aware enough that there weren't the votes for single payer.
We wouldn't be going through this if Hillary was in the White House.
Good morning, Cha...
