Macron campaign emails appear to be leaked online

A large trove of emails purporting to be from the campaign of French presidential candidate Emmanuel Macron was posted online late on Friday, 1-1/2 days before voters go to the polls to choose the country's next president in a run-off with Marine Le Pen.

Some nine gigabytes of data were posted by a user called EMLEAKS to Pastebin, a document-sharing site that allows anonymous posting. It was not immediately clear who was responsible for posting the data or whether the emails were genuine.

A Macron spokesman was not immediately available for comment.

Let's just say their cyberwarfare is leagues ahead of what the US has done as of late. You don't see anything like this in our history outside of Latin America (and even then it's not where near as effective).

All campaign activity has stopped 15 minutes ago (midnight friday) by law. we vote tomorrow (for expat in the us) and sunday.

The media can not use this and get the campaigns to comment on it. French people wont suddenly flip from Macron to Le Pen.

One reason is that we know its the russians screwing with us and that wont fly. Another is that most french people dont expect their politicians to be perfect. All of them are at one time or another in the news for various sheneningans.

Le Pen who is a european deputy currently is being investigated for illicit payments to staffers abd the european congress is voting to strip her of her immunity. Sex scandals dont work either. Its pretty common to see reports of this or that person to have a lover. etc...

than the US has--paper trail or something to prove results are correct.

We in the US, have got to get very serious about changing our voting apparatus.

Good Luck! Wishing for a great outcome, France! The US needs some good news about now.
