(53,947 posts)She's one of those senators who don't want to hurt poor people too badly. I imagine she's hedging her bets until she sees which way the winds are blowing.
That means Murkowski is the most important senator to call right now

(50,922 posts)minimizing the deaths this bill causes in the long term. And when you think of it that way, I am not sure what to wish for.
If the bill does not go through, they will bleed the ACA until it cannot survive and they will blame the resulting chaos on the Democrats. I fear that if that happens, there will be no medical coverage for another generation.
If the bill does go through, people will suffer horribly in the short term, but the ramifications of supporting Republicans will become clear to millions, and perhaps we will create a reasonable plan four years from now.
I hate to say this, but I am beginning to hope their monstrosity passes.

(797 posts)Appears the general direction Trump wants to take Americas healthcare is back to the pre ACA period where only the rich get or could afford decent healthcare.. What a racket.

Is there a "make everybody over fifty curl up and die" draft bill sitting in some Conservative Think Tanks some where? I need to read it to see if it's good or bad first.
