The great British Brexit robbery: how our democracy was hijacked

A story of brexit, but also shows the U.S. part along with ties.

"There wasn’t just a relationship between Cambridge Analytica and AggregateIQ, Paul told me. They were intimately entwined, key nodes in Robert Mercer’s distributed empire. “The Canadians were our back office. They built our software for us. They held our database. If AggregateIQ is involved then Cambridge Analytica is involved. And if Cambridge Analytica is involved, then Robert Mercer and Steve Bannon are involved. You need to find Chris Wylie.” "

Thing is: this Facebook data mining/targeting wouldn't work with me, for instance, or for many of you I shouldn't imagine.

Just how effective this is is an open question. But, apparently in areas where you need only 1-2% difference to swing an election - maybe...

Some of the countries they did work for (Iran) don't really do Facebook to any large extent so it's hard to imagine where they would get their data from or how they would target people.

Been reading about Mercer and CA for some time now trying to get my head around his little hobby.
