Yesterday I made a post outlining my feelings toward a woman being our president. In listed therein a few women who we might consider.
I this thread, I'd like to see people list their favorite badass women. Maxine Waters, Elizabeth Warren, and - yes - Hillary Clinton come quickly to mind. Badasses all.
Who do you see as a badass?

"Speier entered politics by serving as a congressional staffer for Congressman Leo Ryan. Speier was part of his November 1978 fact-finding mission. Speier was one of two members of the mission who made wills before traveling to Jonestown. Several Peoples Temple members ambushed the investigative team and others boarding the plane to leave Jonestown on November 18. Five people died, including Congressman Ryan. While trying to shield herself from rifle and shotgun fire behind small airplane wheels with the other members of the team, Speier was shot five times and waited 22 hours before help arrived. That same day, over 900 of the remaining members of the Peoples Temple died in Jonestown and Georgetown in a mass murder-suicide."

(12,047 posts)Now's the time prospective presidential candidates start taking the subtle but crucial behind-the-scenes steps that get them noticed by the political intelligentsia, and Sen. Kamala Harris is quietly following the script.
Shes making speeches to key national constituencies. Shes due for an appearance at a Washington think-tank panel full of chattering-class presidential favorites that the national media will be reporting and analyzing, probably for days. Shes been fundraising for colleagues and making sure that she is forming relationships with key national reporters.
Theyre all boxes that prospective presidential candidates routinely check. Its a chance to ultimately convince insiders theyve got the gravitas and the fundraising chops to be taken seriously.
