WI Voter-ID Law Suppressed 200,000, Trump Won by 22,748.

Any doubts about whether or not the cheating Republicans are destroying democracy can be discarded.

Wisconsin’s Voter-ID Law Suppressed 200,000 Votes in 2016 (Trump Won by 22,748)
A new study shows how voter-ID laws decreased turnout among African-American and Democratic voters.
Ari Berman - May 9, 2017

Prior to the 2016 election, Eddie Lee Holloway Jr., a 58-year-old African-American man, moved from Illinois to Wisconsin, which implemented a strict voter-ID law for the first time in 2016. He brought his expired Illinois photo ID, birth certificate, and Social Security card to get a photo ID for voting in Wisconsin, but the DMV in Milwaukee rejected his application because the name on his birth certificate read “Eddie Junior Holloway,” the result of a clerical error when it was issued. Holloway ended up making seven trips to different public agencies in two states and spent over $200 in an attempt to correct his birth certificate, but he was never able to obtain a voter ID in Wisconsin. Before the election, his lawyer for the ACLU told me he was so disgusted he left Wisconsin for Illinois.

Holloway’s story was sadly familiar in 2016. According to federal court records, 300,000 registered voters, 9 percent of the electorate, lacked strict forms of voter ID in Wisconsin. .............

Okay, this is from The Nation, and the study was commissioned by "Priorities USA, is a progressive advocacy group and Super PAC that supported Clinton in 2016 and Barack Obama in 2012. The study was conducted by Civis Analytics, a data science firm founded by the chief analytics officer for Obama’s reelection campaign in 2012."

So these conclusions need to be replicated and supported by other analysts. But if only 80K votes were suppressed, we of course know they would be predominantly Democrat leaning.

This has to be fixed.

we perpetually file lawsuits, and whine & wring our hands every time the mean ole republicans tighten the restrictions, instead of spending some money beating them at their own game..

1.... new voters should register as republican if they live in a red state/area

2.... DNC should spend whatever it takes to make sure our voters HAVE WHATEVER IS REQUIRED....JUST GET PEOPLE PASSPORTS AND BE DONE WITH IT.. It would surely be cheaper in the long run..

3....as soon as we are in a position to legislate, we MUST address the goofball way districting is done, and the way rules for registering are done..

4....people should be automatically registered to vote as soon as they turn 18..all that should be needed is a bill, or mail showing where you sleep at night

Detroit Voting Machine Failures Were Widespread on Election Day
Charlotte Alter - Dec 13, 2016

More than 80 voting machines in Detroit malfunctioned on Election Day, officials say, resulting in ballot discrepancies in 59% of precincts that raise questions about the reliability of future election results in a city dominated by Democratic and minority voters.

"This is not the first time," adds Daniel Baxter, elections director for the city. "We've had this problem in nearly every election that we administer in the city of Detroit." Baxter says that the machines were tested for accuracy before election day in accordance with state and federal guidelines, but that sometimes the machines "hit up against each other and malfunction" as they're being transported to the precincts.

The machines were optical scanners, meaning they registered and counted the votes marked on paper ballots. Many of the machines jammed over the course of election day, perhaps because Michigan had a two-page ballot this year, which meant that paper ballots were collected but inconsistently recorded by the machines. Michigan does not have early voting, so any mechanical malfunction would necessarily happen on election day, since that's the only day the machines are used. That's why so many machines malfunctioned at the same time. "You don't expect a laptop to last 10 years, and you shouldn't expect a voting machines to last 10 years," says Detroit City Clerk Janice Winfrey.

The errors were found as part of a recount process .......................

And that can also be said of other factors, I suspect, such as rigging elections.

One aspect of voter suppression is voter caging, identifying liberal voters and removing them from the voter rolls. The then become subject to the difficulty of provisional ballot verification which eliminates more votes. There are various other fronts in the voter suppression war, bad machines, longlines, fewer polling places, moving polling places, less early voting, ............. it really adds up to millions and millions of votes.

CrossCheck....they look for common names in states with laws barring felons...names that overwhelmingly vote democratic. If they have a Bill G Robinson or a Jose H Garcia as felons they apply that to all with that same first and last name across many states.

So if you are a Bill J Robinson in any of those states you show up to vote but you have been unregistered. This con was first used in Florida 2000 and they disenfranchise 10s of thousands or more that way.

Greg Palast has done yeoman work on this but it gets almost no play on our MSM.

Unfortunately, Holloway moved back to Illinois before the election, so he wouldn't have standing.

I'm sure there are others out there. In order to sue, I believe there needs to be standing or something.

I think the Wisconsin voter ID law challenged in court and I think the state won.

However, would the results be the same if an individual sued?

Can voter data be used in another legal challenge?

That NO Dem--not even Pres. Obama or Bernie would have won the presidency with all that cheating going on.

Dems face some really stiff odds going into 2018, because if the voter suppression was bad in 2016, it'll be a bugga-bear in 2018, and especially so with this crooked tRumputin DOJ lead by putin-loving beauguard riding shot gun to help thuglicans keep right on cheating, and who'd also look the other way or fake an investigation to see if the ruskies were cyber-hacking and cheating us out of elections. So, even if the Dems turn our en mass, thuglicans with help possibly from the ruskies know how to voter-purge, voter-crosscheck, voter-hack away all of those beautiful Dem votes so that the thuglican running can once again win former blue states MI., WI., PA., and who knows what other states they throw in to rub it in on Dems so that they go way over what needed to blow Dems out in 2018 and 2020.

Mentally-declining yet still there enough, racist, ignorant, cheating, scared and maniacal tRumputin thought nothing of firing Comey in the broad-open day light while during Comey's investigation of him, so you know darn well he'd think nothing of allowing, asking and begging his fellow Kleptocracy buddies and blackmailers the ruskies to help him or whoever runs for president from that cheating side win it all again in 2020.

What Dems do exactly to combat the cheating is anyone's guess, because we control NOTHING as of May 10th 2017.
