I think Trump is gonna seriously regret messing with the FBI

Many in the Bureau reportedly devastated by this- not just the firing but how it was handled. If Trump thought this was gonna to take pressure off him w/regards to the Russia Investigations he's gonna be seriously disappointed.

If he had messed with them, I wouldn't have been surprised to see him meet with a "tragic accident" or completely-unforeseen "natural causes." The FBI, by contrast, tends to avoid extrajudicial actions.

Of course, where the rubber will meet the road is when Trump's appointee takes over, and demands all evidence be sent to him for review and "safe-keeping"...

Trump has done NOTHING to endear himself to those folks.

They'll be happy to bury him anyway they can. They already have the evidence they need to put the guy in jail. The reason we know that is they didn't offer Flynn immunity for his testimony. Flynn knows plenty but the Feds don't need him, they can convict Trump without him.

Does that tell you anything? It speaks volumes to me. They're all going down.

The "Steele report" was circulating last fall, even before the election. The British, German and Israeli intelligence agencies are all telling us they have the goods on Trump colluding with Putin.

Steele is the British spy who has contacts with the Russians and reported on all of this. The report was shared with our CIA and FBI early in the Fall (before the election). They've been following the story (follow the money) for at least 6 months now and they pretty much have what they need to bury Trump.

Just because we haven't seen it yet, doesn't mean they don't have it.

It's all a matter of time now.

Seems so. I've heard the speculation for awhile now that the reason nobody's jumped to give Michael Flynn immunity for his "story to tell" is because they don't need to, that they've already got what they need regarding him. Makes sense, anyway.

Obama made sure the evidence against Trump and his people was widely disseminated, and that a lot of it was put in places where those who would collude with Trump would not even be able to access it to find out what is known.

I hope Comey and his lieutenants were smart enough to do the same thing, because it is a sure bet that those who collude with Trump will go wild deleting, destroying, and shredding every bit of evidence they can get their hands on!

I suspect Comey et al. knew to protect their evidence.

I know, we here at DU love to engage in wishful thinking and pretending that it's reality. But wishes are not reality, and to tell the truth, I'm getting a bit bored with all the "Trump is going down" predictions that simply never come true. Sure, trash talking is fun and makes us feel good, but there comes a time when we have to face reality. The coup succeeded. We are no longer a democracy. Deal with it by doing something positive to resist. And repeating vague wishes is not really productive. If anything, it lulls us into a false sense of immanent victory that will leave us shaking our heads and wondering how we could possibly have lost the battle. We all "knew" Hillary would win. But she didn't. We all "know" Trump is going down, but he's not.

He thinks that he can insult and fight the FBI, the Intelligence Community, Foreign Service Officers at State, etc, without consequences. He doesn't understand that he is not a Dictator, although he is acting like one. You can't alienate the rank-and-file members of the government and the national security apparatus and expect to get your policies properly executed.

In most ways, Trump has no clue how Government works. He did not realize how complicated it was! I think that he will finally implode one day soon. In fact, he implodes on a regular basis, it just has not taken him out of office yet.

Trump is a threat to the Nation and to our National Security. He should be impeached and/or removed for being mentally unfit under the 25th Amendment. Removing Trump should be a goal for every Democrat running for Federal Office in 2018.

Oppose, Resist, Impeach!

I agree with the previous poster who said that we might pin some of our hopes upon New York's AG Eric Schneiderman. He does not answer to Trump and is outside of the sphere of influence of the Trump Regime in DC. Schneiderman is capable and trustworthy.

I also agree with those who say we should not get ahead of ourselves and keep predicting Trump's downfall. It is not guaranteed by any means. We as Citizens should just keep pushing, but it is time to realize that we are suffering under a Tyrant who has no real respect or understanding of Democracy.

Hopefully the wheels of justice will turn and we will be rid of this sociopath soon. Democrats regaining seats in 2018 in the Congress will be a critical goal in getting Trump out prior to 2020. If Dem scan retake the Senate and/or the House, then we will be an opposition with teeth.

Regrets embracing the orange menace and turning their backs on the intelligence community (the career agents..the ones who truly believe in truth and justice and all that crap and risk their safety - not the political appointees). The GOP loves to go on and on about how patriotic they are, how pro law and order they are etc etc.

And they get away with it...get away with sending men and women into battle then not providing care when they return or even enough equipment to fight, outing agents and putting lives in danger when it suits them, they get away with constant cover ups and lies that get people killed.

How much more unpatriotic and anti American can you get when you support a man who colluded with Russia to interfere with democracy. How big of a slap in the face is it basically threaten an agency by the way they fired Comey.

I want this stink to stick to the GOP for longer than the 2018 elections, I want it to be harder for them to get a way with their shit because people in the intelligence community are sick of putting their lives on the line while being stabbed in the back at home.
