And that doesn't even take into account the horrors of The Red Scare, JFK, MLK, RFK suspicious assassinations, Watergate and The Viet Nam War. We've been evil for a long time, with few periods of integrity. None that weren't spoiled by vicious divisive attacks from the Repubs or riddled with hypocrisy. Ick.

5. I think it is because they are not trying as hard to keep it covered up as much.

They seem to be flaunting what they are doing. Does anyone really think that these breaking news of discovered wrong doings is really that much of a cover up? Some of the laws being passed or being attempted to be passed are scary. No one in this country has gone as far as to try to make rape of women legal. No one has tried this hard to make free speech illegal. No one had tried this hard to make education unattainable. I do not think that we have had an administration that has worked this hard at becoming an actual dictatorship. We are trying to fight it but this time it seems like we are losing.
