Nota Bene to Republicans in Senate:

Pay close attention to what is going on. You have a very brief time period in which to avoid being classed as traitors. Follow John McCain's lead on this Trump/Russian thing or you will risk shame that cannot be erased.

This has gone beyond partisan politics, and now has to do with the national security of the United States. Putin is not a friend of the United States, nor is he your friend.

Think, if you are still able to do so and consider changing your party and voting with the Democrats. If you do not, it will not end well for you. There is a change coming. Be part of it or begone. Those are your choices.

Frankly, it won't bother me if you go down in disgrace, but I'm offering this opportunity to you out of the kindness of my Democratic heart. Think and do the right thing, or fail. It's up to you, ladies and gentlemen of the Senate.

Pay Attention, or Heads Up. Latin it is, although elementary Italian should suffice for it as well.

Agree with OP. It's a NatSec issue now. It's way past partisan politics and business as usual.

and it will be remembered for the remainder of human history. Our grandchildren will tell their grandchildren of what is transpiring right now in our country and in the world, much as my grandparents told me what WW II was like and my parents told me what the Kennedy assassination was like. Everyone is somehow caught in history, but in this moment, it is writ large.

The poet James Russell Lowell (early abolitionist and first editor of "The Atlantic&quot penned these words protesting the US war with Mexico that became the lyrics to the Protestant hymn "Once to Every Man and Nation:"

Once to every man and nation,
Comes the moment to decide,
In the strife of truth with falsehood,
For the good or evil side;
Some great cause, some great decision,
Offering each the bloom or blight,
And the choice goes by forever,
’Twixt that darkness and that light.

Then to side with truth is noble,
When we share her wretched crust,
Ere her cause bring fame and profit,
And ’tis prosperous to be just;
Then it is the brave man chooses
While the coward stands aside,
Till the multitude make virtue
Of the faith they had denied.

Though the cause of evil prosper,
Yet the truth alone is strong;
Though her portion be the scaffold,
And upon the throne be wrong;
Yet that scaffold sways the future,
And behind the dim unknown,
Standeth God within the shadow,
Keeping watch above His own.

Pick a side, republicans-- history is coming for you.

Politics in my entire adult life has consisted mainly of rethugs behaving badly. They've been shits since Teddy Roosevelt left office, excepting maybe Eisenhower.

Enough is enough!

prevail and save them as he does. Even if the Orange Anus manages to wriggle out of the demon crafted crap he is entwined in, he will NOT aid anyone other than himself. It's in his DNA to behave this way. Alas, abandoned all hope, yee who entered here, for doom is his name and (political)death is his reward to you.

If the call for a special prosecutor doesn't have significant bipartisan support by next Tuesday, then Democrats should start tarring the whole republican party with this stain. One or two folks standing up for whats right is not enough to give your party a pass, right now one or two people seem to be the exceptions to the traitorous collaborators that make up the bulk of the republican party.
