But you have to remember one key thing: In the private sector, when YOU OWN IT, whatever "it" is, especially a privately-held/family owned and operated entity, you are basically king. Particularly if you don't have a board of directors or stockholders or any other entities or involvements or share-holders who must be answered to, and to whom you owe accountability. trump's businesses are set up explicitly so he doesn't have to answer to anybody. He doesn't want accountability. He doesn't think he's supposed to be held to any accountability to anybody. And why should he? In all his 70 years he's never had ANY. He's never had to answer for ANYTHING. His business world doesn't work that way. I bet that's the main objective for his running for president in the first place. The whole "let's just blow this whole thing up" idea of bringing some new guy outsider was likely - let's run this thing like a BIZNISS!

By this point in my life, I can no longer count how many people I've known or heard speaking, who have remarked how "government should be run like a BIZNISS!!!!" Just can't count how many anymore. There IS that mentality out there and I'll bet just about everybody here has friends or relatives or acquaintances or colleagues who've said exactly those words over the years.

But it doesn't work that way. Government and business are COMPLETELY DIFFERENT AND SEPARATE entities. They don't operate the same, they aren't held to the same standards, they don't share the same objectives.

Business is there to generate profit. That is IT. That's the whole truth and nothing but the truth. That's all there is and there ain't no more.

Government is COMPLETELY different. Its whole purpose is to serve the public interest. That involves a great deal more than just simplistically generating profit.

Notice what reason he gave to Lester Holt about firing Comey? He said Comey "didn't do a good job."

Where have we heard that before???

That's what he's told every damn contractor and subcontractor he's ever stiffed at the end of the contract because he didn't feel like paying them. He'd tell 'em he wasn't paying them because they didn't do a good job. No explanation given beyond that.

And remember, most of these contractors and ESPECIALLY the subcontractors very likely don't have the deep pockets he does - to be able to file a lawsuit. Most of 'em were small businesses, Mom 'n' Pop shops - plumbers, pipe-fitters, wallpaper hangers, window installers, flooring people, carpeting people, painters, small businesses that probably didn't have a lot of extra money to hire big time lawyers who could sue a donald trump-type. And when they'd object to being stiffed, he'd simply say "so sue me." And that would be enough to make the vast majority of them give up and go away.

So he's used the same lame-ass excuse here for firing Comey. "He didn't do a good job." "What do you mean by that - 'he didn't do a good job'?" "He didn't do a good job."

Notice how many times he's made a statement and when questioned simply repeated the statement - with no details or further enlargement of the point or any evidence presented to back up that original statement? How many times he'll make a statement and then just repeat it verbatim. When questioned, and even when he isn't questioned. Just repeats it. Which is propagandizing - or as dubya once put it, "to kinda catapult the propaganda."

These are sales tricks. Snake-oil sales tricks. Some of us saw this on its way in. But most of the Deplorables never did. And man did they get rolled. I suppose they can take all that snake oil they bought and use it for their health care now, 'eh?

And we perceive the GOP as repugnant to say the least and their voting base as pathetic. And yet, we resist. We have to fight on. Making our voices heard is the power we have.
