Yes, he is physically able to destroy them, but having gaps in what he has shows he did so.

and would want every one of his brilliant, golden words preserved for posterity. On the other hand, he'd need the help of someone who knew how to install and operate a recording system, because he's known to be technologically inept (Alexander Butterfield, where are you?). I suppose he could do it himself with his phone, though.
