Create chaos and uncertainty. Insurance companies have to plan ahead. Chaos and uncertainty make this impossible. They are bailing out of Obamacare because of this. Trump and the republicans are destroying obamacare. It took years to get the infrastructure of Obamacare in place. It's being sabotaged. What will this do to our healthcare system? Our economy?
If, and it's a big if, the republicans pass their healthcare plan our healthcare system will get a lot worse. If they don't get something passed we will have a system that's been sabotaged. Either way the republicans may damage our healthcare system to the point where millions could lose coverage. Costs could soar for all us. They could damage the economy.
I have healthcare coverage through my employer. Honestly, i can not take to many more monthly premium increases. I imagine a lot of americans are in the same boat.
What a mess. This is what happens when the american people make stupid our number one american value.

(146 posts)Of course they will pass something. Content and quality won't matter. We hear a lot about the ACA high points of pre-existing conditions and loss of coverage. We don't see much about the incredible amount of money that hospitals and other facilities have spent on electronic medical records that tie a patient's record together. These systems are still affecting bottom lines. Add on the "charity" care through emergency rooms for the uninsured that had been reduced by the implementation of the ACA.
I actually had someone say to me last week "at least businesses won't have to provide a room for moms to pump or breastfeed". Oh God forbid!

(31,961 posts)Obamacare was an attempt to put some duct tape on a broken system but that was destined to fail. Companies have been bailing out of Obamacare long before Trump came to the scene. Monthly premiums have been shooting up for years and years. The complete system needs to be done over. I doubt our political system is up to it.
