FYI - 18 U.S. Code 2381 - Treason

Whoever, owing allegiance to the United States, levies war against them or adheres to their enemies, giving them aid and comfort within the United States or elsewhere, is guilty of treason [center]

and shall suffer death, or shall be imprisoned not less than five years [/center]

and fined under this title but not less than $10,000; and shall be incapable of holding any office under the United States.

So even though he put our national security at risk it wasn't technically a crime. That might be the most frustrating thing.

And words have definitions in the law. And Russia doesn't meet the definition. There's a reason that the Rosenbergs, Aldrich Ames, Robert Hanssen and others who were found guilty of giving classified information to the Russians were not charged with treason.
