Putin's first goal in getting Trump in the White House (and making sure that Republicans won some key congressional races so the Rs control Congress) was to get those sanctions lifted so that he could resume the oil pipeline plans.

Trump is more out of control than expected, though, meaning that Congress can't lift those sanctions anytime soon.

So Putin has moved to Plan B for a while: create chaos in the U.S. and destroy global confidence in the U.S.

Whether we respond with impeachment or not, Russia still has won. Chaos has been created. The US is too divided and distracted to be a force on the international stage.

friend or foe, that Trump is dangerously incompetent at best.

And/or a Russian spy at worst.

The EU and NATO better take appropriate actions to protect themselves. They are on their own now.

I'd think long and hard before sharing intel with Donald "Loose Lips" Trump!

He hoped to create so much discord that HRC would have an unmanageable Congress and be ineffective in the WH. That added to the GOP's voter suppression and Comey's ambush in the last week put the election close enough for the deplorable to swing it to the Chump.

Just hasten the destruction of the U.S. from within.

Lord knows faux, flush et al. sowed the seeds of discord and divisiveness long ago. Putin was simply able to piggyback on what those RW MFers and their billionaire backers started.

There could've ulterior motives for getting this information out, such as trying to sow chaos in the US.
