happens to scuff his toe across an actual action that is in his job description, they must celebrate and mark the occasion as "wholly appropriate". That's to bookmark the part he did that was correct and distract from the wrong stuff. Not just "appropriate." Better than appropriate. Not partly, wholly.

"Hey, I know the kitchen is flooded and the dog and cat have abandoned us due to the water, the baby has been splashing around with no diaper and the couch is now 1/3 submerged, but I fixed the dishwasher. My methods were wholly appropriate.

McMasters' speech was directed toward the base, who will not have a clue what he actually said, and will only hear "Trump didn't do anything wrong." It's not at all what McMasters said. He tapdanced around with legalese bullshit, but never denied that Trumsky share classified information.

Not to mention, it obviously was the key talking point they wanted to come out. Note that the "wholly appropriate" did not extend to the journalists or whomever leaked it.

Note he never denied:
- that the material was highly classified and belonged to another country - so no, Trump had no right to declassify it.
- that his earlier statement was disingenuous as it denied things the article never claimed and ignored what was claimed.

That phrase was what they want RW media to use as if it says Trump was as innocent as a newborn babe here.
