If Trump resigns, the GOP and Pence will act worse, not better.

I've seen some posts saying the GOP would be chastised for what they have done, and turn into lame ducks.
Nope.
After Watergate the GOP went nuts.
A kind of Bat shit crazy that keeps growing to this day.

They blamed the media.
They blamed the Democrats for a witch hunt.
They did everything except take responsibility for what Nixon and the rest actually did.

Then the GOP dove deep into the Moral Majority and decided that labeling ALL government as bad would be the way to cover up the fact that the Republicans were the ones who created the biggest Presidential scandal in our history.

Do not look for accountability or remorse for their mistakes after this is all over.
That's not hope the GOP works.

They will be vindictive instead.
They will gut Medicare and Social Security.
They will drop all taxes on the 1%.
Anything they can do to fuck average Americans will be done, faster and meaner than right now.

Instead of keeping the focus on trump, they need to start tarring the entire republican party as collaborators. make sure the shit sticks to them as well.

and, as added benefit, Trump's base of voters maybe won't show up to vote for standard repukes.

They might be mad that republicans didn't "defend their President" enough.

When you take stuff away from millions...they don't forgive. History is what it is. But we are also in much different times than we were during the Nixon administration. So many different variables can impact this time much more differently.

She says it's President Orrin Hatch. We will see - these 2 have been so right on so many things.

What, pray tell, has Pence done that could get him kicked out of office the moment he assumes it? Or Ryan, for that matter? Being an asshole is not a constitutional justification for impeachment and removal from office.

Pence is EXACTLY what the GOP's dream president looks like, which is why they never could have won an election with him, and, indeed, why he was not a serious contender in the primaries. Pence is serious trouble. He thinks the catechism is God's instructions on how to reincarnate Torquemada in Pence's image. Ryan feels the same way about himself. Trump thinks "catechism" is a children's game played with a length of string strung through the fingers of both hands.

8. hahahahaha Political capital means nothing to the GOP. Paul Ryan passed a healthcare bill that 17%

of Americans approve of.
%
If they cared about stuff like that the bill would not have been passed in the House
Or even voted on.
They have no capital and are doing what they want anyway.
Now imagine that attitude on meth after a resignation.

The GOP is already frantic over the fake repeal they had to pass, and alreaady hiding out from their constiuents. Political capital means a lot to those who plan to keep their jobs for a few years.

He was an unpopular governor of a fairly small state. Manafort picked him.

He did have a right-wing radio show once, but he was no Limbaugh. I doubt if many people ever heard of him before 2016.
