Is if Lyin Ryan and Turtle McConnell are keeping trump around so they can get a couple of things done legislatively why couldn't Pence deliver that himself? And with potentially fewer distractions. I think Pence is crazy but he's a more disciplined pol than Drumpf is ever capable of being.

bring comfort to anyone.

The best we can hope for is an independent investigation, it drags on until 2018, and we take back Congress

very long shot that if there was an investigation and impeachment, it could drag out until 2018

Color me skeptical that congressional Republicans are thinking of doing anything. The only thing their leadership has talked about lately is how much all this drama is getting in the way of cutting taxes for their overrich pals.

Only brings more disfavor to the Republican Party. They will not be able to engage their agenda in this environment. By the time they decide to act, it'll be too late.

2018 will be a veritable turning point for the Democratic Party.

that would spend a year occasionally meeting and most likely focusing on "leaks", concluding with some written toothless report that basically says nothing we don't already know, with no means to enforce any changes.
