Not only does "Trump on Islam" promise to be one humdinger of a speech, but if you like things now, the mice are going to have one hell of a party while the cat's away.
He's going to be more isolated than he already is, since he can't just wander the halls screaming like Caligula. All of his communications have to be made via secure lines, and he's going to be under whatever scrutiny foreign intelligence agencies can apply.
The topper is that he's going to be out of synch with the news cycle and the business day here. He already shows enough signs of mental imbalance, and claims not to get a lot of sleep, but his sleep deficit is going to be a lot worse when he's up late at night catching up on his favorite news shows.

(18,571 posts)They aren't afraid to assassinate if it's in their interest.
They are also expert at making the assassination look like a natural death.
They apparently have a mole inside ISIS that is providing them with intel and it was probably a very long and difficult process to get someone in there.
Now Trump has exposed him and they will have to get him out or he will be discovered and killed.
They will lose their ISIS mole and it will be difficult to find anyone else willing to trust them after this.
I'm sure Trump has access to a lot more of their confidential intel and now that is at risk too.
Also Russia is aligned with Iran, Israel's no. 1 enemy.
We might not have to impeach Trump.
He may be found in his bed with a heart attack before long.

(1,387 posts)Gonna be interesting . I kinda wonder if Trump even has the courage to go .He tends to avoid face to face confrontation and his policies on Israel keep shifting.
Wonder if they miss Obama about now ?

(115,267 posts)More accurately, yet another international incident. There will be demonstrations; he'll say things that are incoherent and stupid and probably inflammatory (and he'll brag about his yuuge inauguration crowds) and he will be an enormous embarrassment. My brother is in Norway right now and I'll be very interested in what the Norwegians, a pretty liberal bunch, have to say about our Fearless Leader.

(62,444 posts)As to "what" the answer is "something you wouldn't even imagine in the scope of its inappropriateness."
As to "where" the answer is "anywhere", but I'd put good money on "everywhere".
I mean, when does this man ever, EVER, open his unscripted pie hole without something like the Wicked Witch of the West's team of demonic flying monkeys flying out like kids at the bell on the last day of school?

Every European leader will be sizing him up to see how smart he is in the meetings.
Not his kind of vacation.
The European skinheads that do show up for him in public will scare the shit out him.
They have a different kind of white nationalist in Europe.
Nazi's crossed with soccer hooligans.
This should be fun to watch.

(115,267 posts)It is virtually unfathomable that Trump, whose first months in office have been dominated by his (disguised) effort to keep Muslims out of the United States, could give a speech anywhere in the Muslim world on Islam and have it be well-received. Trump, after all, once told the Christian Broadcasting Network that the Koran teaches a very negative vibe.
Its hard to imagine Trump exercising sufficient self-control to emerge from an eight-day trip overseas without incident. He can barely go 24 hours without incident under normal circumstances. The best way to prevent more Trump damage is to keep him home.

(61,675 posts)What a tremendous view! Im sure the Jews had a fantastic feeling when they chose this location 2,000 years ago, amazing location. And the fact that Im speaking to you today in the place where the Jews defeated the Romanian Empire, its unbelievable. Look at where you are today, and where the Romanians are. Just look at yourselves.
I know there was some unpleasant stuff with suicide here. Im gonna get to the Palestinians in a minute. My point is that with enough desire, and a pile of money, you can make peace even with the worst enemy. Everyone tells me that the Israeli-Palestinian conflict is unsolvable. Terrible. And I say: If the Jews and the Romanians managed it, why cant we do it today? If Titus and Eleazar Ben Yair could make a deal, why cant Bibi and Abbas?
I know. This business 2,000 years ago ended in a terrible massacre. So what? You havent had it easy up until now either. Youre normal, you have experience, and most important you have a business plan. And youre patient, like me. Did you know that I waited 30 minutes at the bottom of the mountain while they cleared up all the broken guitar strings from this singer, Broza? David, the guys called like your king, the guy who built Masada. So Im patient, and I know the history, folks.
I want to say something to the Palestinians now. Look I understand that the occupation isnt very nice. Not just for you, for us as well. You have no idea how many millions of dollars a year we pour into this place. It hurts, it really hurts. But suicide isnt the answer. Suicide is for losers. And heres where you can learn something from the Jews: When they fought heroically against the Romanians, and everything seemed hopeless, did they kill themselves? No way, folks. They carried on. Because they knew that this is a fantastic place, with an unbelievable view, and tremendous opportunities for development, business and tourism. Love it. You know, 750,000 tourists come here every year. How many go to Nablus? Just saying. And Nablus isnt even in the West Bank. Think about that. Snip
