Seems to me the GOP should want to get cracking on an investigation / impeachment.

Especially if Pence is implicated.

Do it now, mitigate the risk and, worse case, end up with President Ryan or Hatch.

Wait until after the midterms, face a much more active investigation and say hi to President Pelosi.

Remember Republicans are most concerned about primaries, not losing their seats, so with Trump's approval still sky-high among GOPrs likely to vote in elections, they aren't ready to take him on.
