General Discussion
Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsIs Donald Trump a flight risk?
What are the odds he just takes Air Force One, and his inner circle, to Russia and never comes back?
Should we be talking about taking him into custody before he can go on his trip?
EDIT: Keep in mind, when Viktor Yanukovych (Manafort's buddy) was thrown out of Ukraine, he fled to Russia, where he still lives.

(146,287 posts)Moscow, that order would be reported immediately by the crew.
It seems almost completely unlikely that any such thing will even be considered by Trump. It would cause the biggest crisis ever seen in modern history, and even the Russians wouldn't want any part of it, I'm sure.
No. Trump will bumble and bluster his way through his itinerary and come home again to bluster some more.

(29,199 posts)The absolute worst that anyone will be allowed to do to Trump is make him leave office.
Whoever follows him (Pence, Ryan) will pardon him for all crimes, including shady financial dealing from his past.
Those of us old enough have seen this before.
If impeached and convicted in the Senate... he will be allowed to return to Mar-a-Lago and play golf the rest of his life.
OTOH, he may not want to travel outside the US because other countries (wherever he did illegal financial deals) could potentially jail him (but even this is highly unlikely)

(209 posts)Evidence is mounting up that Pence knew about Flynn's problems before the inauguration, and Ryan's caught on tape with Kevin McCarthy "joking" about how Trump is being paid by Putin.
When I first read the "President Orrin Hatch" story, I thought it was nuts. Now I'm not so sure.

(29,199 posts)are just engaging in a fantasy world.
Pence might be caught... but Ryan, despite his rather mafia like "keep this in the family" remarks, is sufficiently out of the loop in Trump's web of traitorous crimes.

(209 posts)Literally everything about this man, and his presidency, is unprecedented.
We are way past "that would never happen" territory, past "you can't make this up" territory, and we're now deep into "nothing shocks me any more" territory.

(17,175 posts)Hopefully, it'll be a very short book, unlike "Tweets from Chairman Donald", which may well wind up spilling over into several volumes (which will be filed next to "Quotations from Chairman Mao" and "The Wit and Wisdom of Charles Manson" .
Sorry to go offtrack. Carry on.

I'm sure there is a lot of sensitive information he'd be privy too if he ever had possession of that plane.
The former KGB colonel probably knows this.

(12,647 posts)He's okay about visiting other countries, but he prefers his "cocoons". His U.S. golf courses and sycophants. Those are where he feels his power over people who "dissed" him.
He'd rather die than give them up.
