‘Art Of The Deal’ Co-Author: Trump Will Resign, Then Declare Victory

Tony Schwartz says Trump is in “pure terror” that he’s going to lose.

“There is no right and wrong for Trump, there’s winning and losing,” Tony Schwartz told CNN’s Anderson Cooper. “And right now, he is in pure terror that he is going to lose.”

***

“I surely believe that at some point over the next period of time he’s going to have to figure out a way to resign,” Schwartz said in comments posted online by Mediaite. But in quitting, Trump will try to “figure out a way, as he has done all his career, to turn a loss into a victory so he will declare victory when he leaves.”

Earlier in the segment, above, Schwartz told Cooper that Trump was “in a pretty significant meltdown.” He added:

“I think he’s reacting from a survival place. I think he’s being run by the part of his brain that’s reactive and impulsive, not capable of reflection and I think he’s in pure defensive mode.”

5. Clearly he's frustrated with, and getting tired of, the job.

The complication, though, is that at the very least, he's obstructed justice, and at worst he has committed treason.

My prediction is that he will hang on until maybe November. There will come a time when Republicans can no longer ignore the situation in spite of their fear of their crazy base which controls the nominating process at the grassroots level.

When this happens, Trump will work a resignation deal in exchange for a pardon.

Then he'll slither out of office and 'declare victory' in some stupid fucking reality show.

God, what a MISTAKE it was for the electors to ignore the popular vote and put this cretin in office.

Sigh.

I agree with you...in his mind, he probably would want to hang on until November. But given the pace of the daily news cycle in recent weeks, that may or may not be possible.

Paul Ryan won't make any kind of move until he's confident that he's sucked the last drop of blood from the turnip.

Let's face it, he never wanted to actually be President, just win an election & be the center of attention. I've thought for quite some time that he's looking for a way out. Maybe this is it.

10. Yes, coward Trump will leave--I predict it will happen before the Big Trip

because Trump can't hack that kind of stress. He knows he'd fuck up every second he is awake. He's dreading the trip and little rich boy snowflake never does things he hates to do, not for long.

At least I hope so--that would be best for the country--

Now if only we followed beauty contest rules, and Miss Congeniality takes over the Crown. THAT woud be justice. Instead we'll get endless male-dominated foot dragging and excuses and complex legal arguments that end in the white guy winning no matter what.

Maybe for "health reasons", but that would be an admission of weakness. I think it will be more like the system is so rigged him why should he put up with it when he could have a much better life without all of the hassle and unfair insults. America doesn't deserve his leadership, etc.

12. Paranoid delusions are a symptom of mental instability. 25th Amendment time or resign.

Pence and the Republicans are near to giving him the ultimatum, resign or the 25th. We can't operate as a nation with a mental case at the helm.

They will blame his departure on the unfair media and on unfair Democrats, and they will spend decades complaining about "what could have been" if only we'd let Trump put his ideas into effect.

"I think he’s being run by the *part* of his brain that’s reactive and impulsive, not capable of reflection"?

Is there another part of his brain?
