The True Legacy of Roger Ailes

The true legacy of Roger Ailes is the manner in which he divided America.

He divided America along partisan lines, according to the information they would receive.

At first, they had no credible reporters. They simply editorialized on different issues. Their goal was to be different, just for difference sake. If the mainstream media said it was day, FOX News would say that it was night. They portrayed themselves as "fair and balanced", defining their competition as the opposite by definition. Their competition became their opposition. They were always right and the Mainstream Media was always wrong.

Over time, Ailes created lines of demarcation in the presentation of news. Whatever the opposition would say on the airwaves, they would say the exact opposite. Eventually, FOX listeners grew to believe that there was no credibility with any news source that was not FOX news or related talk radio news. They would believe nothing that did not come from Roger Ailes and his followers in the conservative media. They would be caught dead before they would listen to anything that came from the mainstream media.

That is where we are today. Roger Ailes made it possible for someone like Donald Trump to be President of the United States. Unfortunately, for a country to be informed and enlightened, there had to be some sort of consensus on the information and propaganda that was distributed over the airwaves. Ailes made sure there was no consensus.

Now, we have a nation that believes Donald Trump, that has been programmed to not believe anything that might come from a "liberal" source. Even the "conservatives" in Congress have evolved from the vision of Roger Ailes to create a different news channel. They do not understand the opposition to Donald Trump because they have not been exposed to any information that might criticize Donald Trump. They are all in the Roger Ailes bubble. That is the true legacy of Roger Ailes.

I'll add - graphics and T&A. That's what got people to stop by his channel at first. Color and hot chicks. Sex sells and he knew it.

"Roger Ailes made it possible for someone like Donald Trump to be President of the United States."

Republicans see that as high praise, the perfect epitaph.

The rest of us see it as the rap sheet it is.

And we got his evil and stupid president now.

I lost a good friend to fox. It changed her from a loving giving person to a selfish hateful woman.
