I have always considered all those appreciation threads a bit silly, but now I find that I need to publicly express my admiration for the brilliant essays by TheFerret, who as far I can tell is a relatively new DU member. (I adore ferrets, so I would have noticed the name if I had seen it around for a long time. I would certainly have noticed his fine essays, too.)
Frankly, I think TheFerret is as good as the Rude Pundit. If TheFerret doesn't already have a blog we can all visit, he should start one.

(51,076 posts)I've been sending the essays to my brother and lately sending his essays to myself so I will have them. I love his/her whichever it is, writing. I look forward to reading them.
Over the years we've had some good writers here at the DU, in fact it was those writers who caught my eye to begin with.
Yesterday when DU was down reminded me of just how much I depend on this place to help me to keep what little sanity I still have,

(51,076 posts)as I replied to him early on that if this place was to ever have a spokesman he should be it. H20 man thinks so clearly and writes so well.
What got my attention to this place to begin with was Bob Boutalang. Awesome writing. And what cemented my love for this place was Bob Boutalang, H20 man and Mopaul. I stayed in touch with Mopaul up to a couple years ago but we've lost touch with one another.

(19,192 posts)very well. Bob Boudelang, Conservative patriot! And he DID NOT burn down the Daisy Hill Trailer Park, so stop saying that! I believe one Mr. Benchley was his alter-ego, if I'm not mistaken. That was before I took my rather long hiatus from DU. It sure is great to be back!

Right off the bat TF's essays have been a must read.

I think TheFerret is a he who has a blog/column somewhere and needs to let loose - I love it - nothing better than creative use of the English language. So cathartic for the frustrated masses, so thank you TheFerret.
