He does watch his feet a lot going down stairs. Fear of falling?

Mom was morbidly obese for most of my years growing up, and she had a fear of heights/stairs/precipices etc.

We always figured she was afraid that if she bent forward to look down, she'd fall, and she didn't trust handrails or fences. Trump, I think, has a back problem which prevents him from bending at the waist as well. If you look at the "curtsy" in Saudi Arabia, it looked more to me like an effort to get low enough to receive the medal around his neck without bending at the waist.

Between his obvious weight problem and bad back, a "fear" of stairs is conceivable.
