Lurking Deplorables , if you believed this remove yourself from the gene pool

"We're going to have insurance for everybody..There was a philosophy in some circles that if you can't pay for it, you don't get it. That's not going to happen with us... They can expect to have great health care. It will be in a much simplified form. Much less expensive and much better..."

-Donald J. Trump

this plan literally kills two birds with one stone, reduces the number of rural americans through inadequate health care, and undermines the GOP future. Its a shame it had to come to that, but hey, elections have consequences.

Traditionally, and throughout history the "haves".. be it a despot, a king, an emperor, or oligarch ruler have had need of the underclass in order to maintain their status. As manufacturing plants require fewer and fewer people to work within the walls, as service places are getting more automated, as even the automobiles they drive (or are driven in) become more automated, eventually there will be a point where the rich, or the "haves" will no longer have use for the have nots.

Those who are outside of the 1-10% are becoming obsolete, and I suspect that's probably at the core on why many of them really don't give that much of a care about the environment. When the time comes, they just let the peasants die off, and they'll have their technology and hand selected cronies to keep them going.

to do all the crappy jobs that even the middle class won't do. So getting rid of the poor isn't really a good idea in the long run.

I will say that I'm considering writing a story in which all those who are out of work for some period of time are put into resettlement communities, and if they still don't find work, they end up as fertilizer.

As always happens with me I get a pretty decent story idea, and have no clue what sort of a plot is needed.

Do I have the soon-to-be-fertilizer people revolt? Do I show it as a kind of Utopia because there's full employment? Do I have some of the rich people get thrown into the fertilizer group? Should aliens show up and simply harvest all humans? There's probably some vastly better plot possibility than any of those. Sigh.

I often say that if I could sell story ideas for a dime a dozen I'd be rich.

in any sort of elderly services and parents happen to work in health care could conceivably lose a job or two, any and all health care/elderly care for grandparents as well as healthcare for all.

The only benefactors of this scheme will be a measure of the top 1%.

No need to bring back the dark specter of eugenics, breeding, and the gene pool. That was a dark time in our history.
