... and often homeless for reasons far beyond their control.
"Positive thinking" or finding some god or other higher power isn't going to help them. They live in an alternate reality, sometimes a terrifying reality that makes them unlikable in our reality.
Britain has a tighter social safety net than we do, and they've still got people who fall through the gaps.
In the U.S.A. many mentally ill people end up incarcerated, or they die on the streets, murdered sometimes.
It doesn't have to be this way.
