How far back does Russia's perfidy go?

I was talking to my friend last night, and she said that when JFK was assassinated, and there were rumors about Russians being behind it, at the time, she thought that was crazy (we were friends then, age 9 and 10) Now, she has no doubt that Russian has been undermining us at least since then. And we mentioned Joe MCCarthy, who did his witch hunt in the 1950s. Now I'm wondering, how long ago did the Russians start using trump and his family? How long did it take to turn trump? (I'm thinking we could use a wad of cash and a stopwatch to time that) Who else have the Russians used for their own ends? How far back does this all go?
