(70,641 posts)6. Actually, immigration is a big part of his life story, so why is he so down on the issue?
His grandfather was an immigrant, but back in Germany was considered "illegal" for having left (and come back) without performing military duty, and was rejected for reinstatement.
His mother was born in Scotland. Two of his wives were immigrants.
That's why I call him by his original family surname, DRUMPF, to highlight how big immigration is in his life and to wonder why he focuses so negatively on it for everybody else.
