Morning Joe discussion on Internet / cell phone privacy and corporate big brother, and Trump

I know there's a lot of MJ haters here, and I get why. But in my opinion it's improving, and I enjoy the conversational dynamic between Joe and Mika now that they've "come out" about it.

This morning on MSNBC Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski and their entire group were vigorously discussing Joe's experience that corporations seem to be listening to conversations on his phone because the topics are popping up as ads on his browser, even though he never wrote about it or texted it. Specifically, he said he has just started trying to run but has never texted about it or searched for running shoes or anything like that, yet his browser started popping up ads saying "are you over 40 and taking up running?" And he had talked -- not texted -- Mika by phone that he was finally getting his time down from a 9 minute to a 8.5 minute mile, and the next day his browser was saying "are you over forty and running less than a 9 minute mile?" "How are they doing this and who is doing this?"

Another one commented that the "cell phone is the greatest spying device ever invented". Another said that a lot of politicians make you turn off your phone when you walk in because "the Russians are listening." Mika said "my dad (Zbigniew) always said that, he has said it for many years". Then one asked "why are Republicans agreeing to allow bills to be passed allowing MORE spying and intrusions on privacy?" and another immediately answered "it's because of millions of dollars in campaign contributions".

This was on Comcast-owned MSNBC. The discussion had been preceded by hardhitting critiques of Trump's erratic behavior, damage to NATO, etc., and after the telecom privacy issue, they returned to Trump, how dysfunctional his administration is, how none of his advisors can walk in and tell him the truth about anything, etc., etc. They pulled no punches and were clearly on the same page. I'm glad to see it.

They are now interviewing Al Franken.

Donald loves to blackmail people into submission.

I missed the first hour and hope this discussion was then, so it'll be replayed in 8-9am (E).

This data being gleaned and sold, I guess. Shocking. We should all experiment by selecting a topic completely opposite to normal for ourselves and see if it starts popping up.

I swear, they ran a segment with the newspaper editorial twice, nearly back-to-back, around 8:20-8:40.

I expect to have mattresses follow me around the Internet after I google "mattress," but I don't expect the topic of a conversation I'm having vocally on a phone to start following me around.

Oh god. Disturbing.

If they succeed in setting term limits on congress, I suspect it simply means a pool of rotating empty suits bought by deep pocketed corporate lobbies, and no chance of more reasonable, less-compromised people breaking through.

Maybe a Fitbit or something but I think they would have recognized that.
I'm wondering if there's some voice recognition software? It's odd.

Joe has insinuated that he might not be a repug for much longer. He is really disgusted by the Goopers. We'll see.

There are many ways to spy on a phone.
If you google for such apps, you'll find much info. I tried spytomobile service, it works well.
