Imagine if Paul Ryan could NEVER put up any bill, including KILL MEDICARE or SOC SEC

This is possible, did everybody know that?

Here is how it works, if the Democratic Party controls both houses by ONE SEAT ONLY, no bill from any republican EVER sees the light of day NO MATTER what asshole liar dictator is in the Oval Office, which would be any republican, not just Trump.

So if a very BAD democratic candidate ran for a seat, no matter how BAD they were, for THIS reason they are better than any republican, no matter what.

Does everybody understand this?

If DNC controls both houses, NO bill that destroys the environment, working rights, civil rights, etc is EVER introduced, LET ALONE voted on or signed. No bill that privatizes and destroys Medicare, Medicaid, Food Stamps or SOCIAL SECURITY is EVER introduced!

I dont think everybody understands this.

When I say PUT UP a bill what I mean to say is get a bill passed, no GOP bill is passed if DNC controls unless it is bipartisan, which most are not and NONE of the ones attacking the stuff I mentioned would be bipartisan EVER.

I will vote for Satan himself over Jesus if Jesus is running as a republican.

Basic math.

11. Two words, Subpoena Power

The White House. It's called the "Bully Pulpit", you get to push your agenda.

Congress, it's called "Floor Control" party in power controls what gets to the floor for a vote.
Congress also has"Subpoena Power" you get to investigate what you want.

The Supreme Court, I can't remember what it's called, the choice to hear a case or not.

So yes, it's very important. If the generic Democrat or Republican controlled House agenda.

So if you value your health care protections – vote generic Democrat.

If you want to keep your government supplied health care subsidies – vote generic Democrat.

If you believe in science – vote generic Democrat.

But this should be totally redundant – on a website called "Democratic Underground" – sorry about that

Many people think anyone in Congress can submit a bill which will eventually have to be voted on by the entire
House or Senate.

5. Being in the majority doesn't mean repubs can't introduce bills.

It would mean that repub introduced bills would be referred to a committee with a Democratic majority and that committee could simply let the bill die without so much as a hearing.

And while that would probably happen with bills attacking the safety net and civil rights, which is a very good and desirable thing, it would never happen to all repub introduced bills, since many such bills are on topics that aren't particularly controversial and often get a number of Democratic votes and even may have Democrats sign on as co-sponsors after being introduced.

But you're right about the importance of getting a majority in Congress, even if you overstate slightly how the impact of doing so.

7. Good point. And that is why people were wrong to oppose DINO's

in districts where we were lucky to get any candidate with a D by his name, even if he only voted with us 51% of the time. The presence of the DINO's we used to have gave us control of the Committees in the House and the Senate, regardless of how they voted on individual votes.

to a show I like and a pro Bernie, anti DNC caller is saying that only logical way to go forward is to oppose corp dems.

He believes he is right, but is guaranteeing more GOP seats, just too ignorant to understand that.

Millions like him.

Big trouble, big.

would rather lose and remain "pure." They are damned fools and would cost us a majority. However, I doubt that any of them have their ass on the line when the GOP starts gutting our rights and social nets.

Repeal Obama care = repair?

Some people don't have the time or inclination to figure out the swamp. That's called politics.

Say hello to Kathy, she works for Obama care, is insured by Obama care, and enthusiastically voted for trump.
