Is a belief in white supremacy the explanation, when push comes to shove?

Do you think we had to have a black (latino/asian) president to uncover how much a belief in white supremacy still governs us? You need to watch the video.

Scroll down to the video entitled "Lest We Forget."

"The Big Lie worked for Trump because it had been sown in the fertile soil of slavery and segregation, and he knew that after eight years of a black president, white supremacy was ripe for harvesting. I talked about the Birther Lie with four noted historians in this video, which we posted on Jan. 20 — the day Trump was inaugurated as Barack Obama’s successor."

And I think, we still hire the first black, woman, Latino and gay president regardless how much the bigotry challenges us. What would it say about us, if we allowed it to dictate our choices.

I think it was a simmering bigotry over the 8 years and part of the issue was society could not handle/accept a woman. Just part. Only a part. It took a lot to steal/take the election from Clinton.
