Science division of White House office no longer staffed: report

The science division of the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy reportedly had no staff members as of Friday.

Sources told CBS News that the last employees in the division, three holdovers from former President Obama's administration, all left the White House this week.

Under Obama, the science division was staffed with nine employees who crafted policy on STEM education, crisis response and other key issues, according to the report.

Eleanor Celeste, the former assistant director for biomedical and forensics sciences in the division, appeared to tweet about leaving the office this week.

8. Well, if you don't believe in science, why would you anyone in that division? Ya know, I keep hear-

ing about all the positions that haven't been filled since the Con took office. No AG's, nobody at the State Dept., and who knows how many others remain vacant. They must be saving a TON off money on salaries! I'm sure some are fairly low paying jobs, but many are not. I'm almost afraid to ask the question though because I think our Country NEEDS people in those positions and if the Con gets a hint that he can use all those vacancies as proof gov't WAS too big because "See, things are working just fine without all those people", and his cult followers will again kiss his feed and chant "Yes Great one"!
