If there are fireworks expected near you, make sure your animals are INDOORS where they're safe. Make sure they can't get out, if there's a panicky moment. If YOU go out and leave them at home, also leave some music on, or the TV or something, so there's noise to blot out what might scare them from outside.

12. Good advice

Two of my three very best friends ever, all canines, were terrified of fireworks. We don't have any dogs right now, but I always feel bad for any animals that have to go through the terror. On July 5th there will be a whole lot of ads on craigslist from people looking for their dogs. Some will never get back home. It's really sad.

If it was just one night it wouldn't be so bad.

That the police would actually block off the roads for this shitshow. It's funny that nobody showed up, but the act of intimidation itself was hostile and racist. I am so glad I live in the northeast. Nobody would ever get away with that shit here.
