FBI Employees Wear Comey Is My Homey Shirts To Family Day

Some FBI employees and their guests wore “Comey is my homey” T-shirts to the bureau’s Family Day in Washington on Friday in what appeared to be an unofficial show of support for former FBI Director James Comey, who was fired in May by President Donald Trump.

At least a dozen people wore matching #ComeyIsMyHomey shirts, according to social media postings. Family Day is an annual event for employees and their families to visit the FBI as well as showcase divisions within the agency, an FBI spokesperson told HuffPost. People in the photos could not be reached or declined to comment.

Within the FBI, Comey’s ouster feels particularly personal. Despite the White House’s claim that he had lost confidence of “rank and file” FBI employees, Comey still enjoyed broad support within the bureau, Acting Director Andrew McCabe testified at a Senate hearing in May. And even some of Comey’s detractors saw Trump’s move to fire him as an inappropriate effort to shut down the investigation.

The back of some shirts included a quote that was attributed to Comey, though we could not confirm he said the specific words: “We choose to do good for a living.”

Trump should not be able to get by with this immoral, evil series of acts against a good man.

for months during which he knew the DNC leadership was not aware it was happening?

The crime that "must" be corrected is whatever Comey was up to. This makes me sorry we don't shoot traitors any more. But even if we can only send him to a federal penitentiary, we really do need to investigate to find out if he colluded with others, and precisely whom, to throw the election to the Republicans.

Hillary would not have fired him. He certainly would have deserved to be fired. But it would have been politically impossible.

Trump could have fired him immediately if he was truly aghast by his former opponent being wronged by an out-of-control FBI. But he didn't.

Anyway, it doesn't matter. Mueller is handling the investigation. And I have little hope that Comey's successor, Christopher Wray, will behave himself in an honorable manner.

Wow, no wonder the republicans (led by Comrade Casino, their Draft-Dodger-in-Chief) have set out to make war on the FBI and the other US Intelligence agencies. The republican BFFs at the Kremlin must be mighty pleased with themselves.

Was it only misogyny? It's common knowledge that Comey and his wife do not care for Hillary, and although Comey may continue to have broad support, he has not ever given a truly adequate explanation why he threw Hillary under the bus. Make no mistake, he played a very large role in giving our country Trump, no matter his actions subsequent to the "election." It is difficult to characterize his actions in sending the false innuendo letter to Congress as "choosing to do good for the country." There's more to this story.

I think he wanted his cake and to eat it too. He, like everyone else, thought Hillary would win, so he did the bidding of Mitch the Turtle and Lyin Ryan and gave them a tidbit at the end to, at the very least, help secure more Republican seats in the House or Senate. It was his show of party loyalty to them.

But I believe him when he lamented that he was sorry if he had a part in altering the election to Trump. Especially as he got to know just who Donald Trump was as President. Like all conservatives, they want to believe that they are morally superior and straight shooters. He has convinced himself that he does have a dedication to unearthing the truth, to not taking sides in the actual investigation. To being very professional, ie..taking notes, and not giving Trump his loyalty oath.

Its just that conservatives say and even believe they only want to find the truth, but they already KNOW what they will find...and that is that their world view will always come out on top. So perhaps unconsciously even, someone like Comey will dampen any indicators showing a conservative opinion or an anti-Republican outcome that seems inevitable, and highlight anything that will hurt liberals or Democrats. Its in their nature.
