Are most Democrats looking forward to 2018 and 2020?

And more or less have given up on anything changing before then? They have accepted that Trump is in there until he is defeated? He is not going to be impeached or kicked out of office for any reason?

We just have to hope that nothing catastrophic happens between now and then?

Is that the majority opinion with Democrats?

2018 is too long to wait. This administration of clowns, ass-kissers and thieves will not be able to handle the next big thing to happen whether it is a natural disaster, a diplomatic crisis or the economic meltdown that appears inevitable.

This is not going to end well. I think the end, whatever form it may take, is nigh.

I say that half joking but to answer your question I'm cautiously optimistic.

We are our own worst enemies at times and I fear we'll devour ourselves before we even get there, hobbling ourselves as we go into the fight.

that the Pubs will win (or at least stay the same) in the 2018 races, and that 2020 is a tossup because so many Democrats in power just can't seem to get their shit together or, maybe, don't WANT to get their shit together.

Plus I have no doubt that "shock doctrine" tactics will indeed be employed. I don't know whether the disaster will be used in aid of keeping Pubs in the Congress OR to get Dipshit re-elected.

...or they really think their "Hitler First" strategy is going to end well.

By all appearances, the war on the Democratic party is going to continue unabated.

Keep your eyes open fellow Democrats.

Every time, we think it is going to go our way, counting on nebulous outrage against the repubs to fuel a massive turnout at the polls.

It never happens. We just get more and more republicans picking up seats in what will one day be a rubber-stamp Reichstag for GOP presidents.

We came through in 2006, but only by squeaking in by the skin of our teeth. Several of the house races took weeks to decide.
