"Triage" may have a political application.

When medical care providers are faced with mass casualties---military field hospital or civilian ER near a train wreck---they try to separate the injured into three categories: those who cannot be saved(ease their pain and move on); those who may be saved with immediate care(into O.R. NOW!); and those who can be saved, but who can wait for care.

I'm not saying we need only three categories when assessing voters, but we do need, in some fashion, to separate the "gettable" voters from the "fuhgeddaboudits".

Most hard-core Trumpsters are lost causes. Forget them. Waste ZERO time, effort or money trying to reach them.

Many on the extreme left, the Greens, the Naderites, many of the current "Our Revolution" tribe, are also unreachable. Many have announced that they don't WANT to join forces with us. "When someone tells you who they are, believe them the first time."

Conservative Republicans, Tea Baggers, white supremacists, militia members, etc---no explanation necessary.

As for the rest of us, there is more that we agree upon than we disagree about. In general, we share most of the same goals for ourselves, our families, our nation. If we start with an acknowledgement of our common interests and our shared vision for this country, by the time we get to our differences, we may find we are having rational discussions with people we respect and---dare I say it ---LIKE.

Just a thought.

Some districts are a lost cause, not worth our time.
Some are winnable with a little bit of work - maybe in time for the next election.
Some are winnable but will take more time and pressure at the state level. Work must be done but prioritize for "down the road."

The gerrymandered districts (many of them) are the result of several years of sneaky underhanded work by the GOP. We were not paying attention while they stole districts out from under us, one by one. Now look where we are.

Much work is needed to take back the winnable counties and districts.
